Children in a kitchen or baking class are making pasta, with a pasta machine, flour, and pasta dough on a metallic table.

Hill’s Kitchen & Girl Scouts Nation’s Capitol

Hill's Kitchen is delighted to partner with Girl Scouts Nation’s Capitol to bring badge-earning programming straight into our kitchen.

Our classes turn life skills into hands-on adventures. Girl Scouts will chop, whisk, and plate their way toward independence, picking up real kitchen confidence one badge at a time.

The classes below are designed for individual sign-up. Have a troop that wants the whole kitchen to itself? Email sarah@hillskitchen.com to schedule a private class.

You're invited.

Girl Scouts “Snacks” Brownie Badge Class

Real tools. Real skills. Real snacks.

In this hands-on class, your Brownie will learn safe, approachable knife work and get comfortable with the kitchen tools that make cooking fun. We'll move through a handful of snack recipes together — and by the end, they'll walk out with treats in hand and the confidence to make themselves something delicious on their own.

This class satisfies all requirements for the Snacks badge. Parents are welcome to stay, but your Girl Scout won't need you — that's kind of the point.

No shortcuts, no fuss. Just good practice, a warm kitchen, and the kind of confidence that follows you home with a little flour in your hair.

This class satisfies three of the five requirements to complete the "Simple Meals" badge.

Girl Scouts “New Cuisines” Cadette Badge Class

Four continents. Four dumplings. Zero plane tickets required.

In this hands-on class, we're going on a world tour — one fold at a time. You'll mix, stuff, pleat, and dip your way through two savory and two sweet dumplings, each from a different corner of the globe. Along the way, you'll pick up the kind of technique that travels well: how to work a dough, how to build a filling, and how to close a dumpling like you mean it.

This class satisfies all requirements to complete the "New Cuisines" badge.

Girl Scouts “Locavore” Senior Badge Class

We'll open a mystery farm box together, talk through what's inside, and let the ingredients lead the way. Along the way, we'll dig into why eating seasonally matters, how to source locally when you're in the city, and how to look at a pile of vegetables and see dinner. Think Chopped — but don't worry about a curveball.

This class satisfies four out of the five requirements to complete the "Locavore" badge.
